According to my parents, I've always loved teaching. I looked for opportunities to lead lessons since I was in Middle School and enjoyed learning any chance I could find. When I was getting my degrees in Sociology, I was fascinated by the dynamics of students and their teachers, and how I could help students learn and retain what they learned. I love finding solutions to problems by compromise and communication, and that is an important part of how I teach.
I've spent the last three years teaching math in Woods Cross, and the nine years before that substitute teaching in Cache Valley. Now, I'm so excited to be teaching math at Bear River Charter! Learning to see the world through logical and reasonable eyes is a vastly important skill, and I enjoy showing my students how everything we learn in math can be applied to real-world situations. The "Ah-Ha!" Moment is the highlight of my teaching career, and my students will collect these "Ah-Ha!" moments for use throughout their lives.
